Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) crosses paths with a woman from his past (Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love -- or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.

To be honest, this was the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie I saw. I don't really get the hate for it, TBH. It was silly and not particularly deep, but it was still fun - and besides, you could say that about all of the previous Pirates movies. Maybe it's just because I watched it without any prior emotional investment in any of the characters; I don't know .

Not bad but underwhelming. George II doesn't have enough screen time and both Gillette and Groves die with barely any fanfare.
