Pokémon is the story of a young boy named Ash Ketchum. Finally having reached the age of 10, he receives his first Pokémon from Professor Oak and sets out on his Pokémon Journey. Along for the ride are his good friends: Misty, Brock, Tracey, May, Max, Dawn, Iris, and Dent. Together, they journey… More through the Kanto, Orange, Johto, Hoenn, Battle Frontier, Sinnoh and Isshu Leagues. Ash takes every opportunity to capture a Pokémon, Misty trains Pokémon of the Water type while Brock prefers Rock types. Tracey travels around sketching Pokémon. May started her journey for the sights and not the Pokémon but then decided to enter Pokémon Contests. Although Max has no Pokémon, he helps the group out with his handy PokéNav skills so as not to get lost but they still do from time to time. Dawn travels around to compete in contests like her mother did years ago.

I hope it's okay to post in this thread. It hasn't been posted in for nearly nine years, but there's no newer thread about the Pokémon anime that I could see, and I also didn't see a rule against topic bumping. Sorry if this post annoys anyone! Anyway, I'm a huge Pokémon fan. I'm not as big into the anime as I was when I was younger, but I do still enjoy it when I do watch it. I don't have the cable channels to watch it on anymore, but I have several DVD's (sadly most of them are probably in storage right now) and I also watch some episodes on places like Netflix, Hulu, and Pokemon.com. When I was younger, I would try to watch new episodes when they aired if I woke up early enough. Before that, I liked to get the three-episode VHS tapes. I also enjoy most of the movies, though I haven't seen a lot of the newest ones. My favorite is probably the eighth movie, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, which I got on DVD in 2006 (for my 13th birthday, actually). A couple times I was able to see Pokémon movies in theaters. First was Pokémon 2000, which I can barely remember since I was maybe six at the time, and Pokémon the Movie White, which I saw when I was eighteen. Seeing that movie in a theater was a lot of fun, and hearing the audience react to things was super cool. I'm not sure which season of the show is my favorite, but I'm super nostalgic for the Hoenn seasons since my interest in the show was at its highest during that time. I also really like the D/P episodes.
